What Is The Alternative To Extinction For Humanity?

What Bucky Fuller believed

What do you think Buckmister meant in his comment about there being enough life support on our planet for all humanity?

Is there enough life support do you think? For everyone? All seven (7) billion of us?

Yes there is! And it is a FACT.

Some 1600 scientists proved it to be the case in 1971, and massive improvements in technology (technology = doing more with less) since then, means that it can be achieved very very quickly, and dare I say it almost effortlessly!

It Is Urgent That We Share The Truth

Unless people are made aware of this fact they will continue to fight over what they perceive to be limited or scarce resources, whether that is food, shelter, oil or water. It is imperative that the truth shared and be known by everyone, and they are then able to re-assess what actions they take to provide a future for themselves and their families.

In the past few days I have spoken with a number of people I considered to be well educated, in touch with current affairs and people having compassion and empathy for human beings overall.

I was wrong, their interests lie in what they can secure for themselves … and if there is a little left over then you can have it.

I was shocked.

One also expressed how wonderful an opportunity it is being given to our young 16 and 17 year olds being introduced to a career in the military, what Buckminster Fuller termed the “KILLINGRY” industry.

Engineers and scientists world-wide are expressing their extreme concern at the climatic events taking place and our seemingly lackadaisical approach to reversing the trends.

At the same time in different parts of the globe we have young men 12 and 14 years of age cold bloodedly killing other human being. Would one such radicalized individual “push a button” or turn a key detonating atomic weapons if they had the chance?

Would one country retaliate against another if threatened? According to Buckminster Fuller it was “touch and go” back in the 1970’s prior to his death in 1983.

ActiveConflicts-wars-deaths

This is not a subject to be taken lightly, that’s for sure. Weapons and wars have become increasingly lethal and use sophisticated technologies including robotics and drones. Atomic weapons are still stockpiled and on alert in a number of countries.

Bombings are occurring in different parts of the world almost on a daily basis, and yet we were living in one of the most peaceful eras in history. The trend towards peace has been encouraging since 1942, until 2008 when the world again became more hostile.

Evidently choices are slim if you want to live in a completely peaceful country today. The only ones to achieve the lowest score for all forms of conflict were Iceland, Switzerland, Japan, Qatar, Mauritius, Uruguay, Chile, Botswana, Costa Rica, Vietnam, Panama and Brazil.

Notice that Australia, France, Germany, United Kingdom and United States are not included, even though it is relatively peaceful at home these countries are all involved in overseas conflicts such as Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria.

Compare The Cost of Livingry vs Killingry

1999 Cost of Livingry vs Killingry

Buckminster Fuller is considered one of the critical and independent thinkers of the 21st Century. He describes himself as a “hard nosed engineer” (his words).

Was he an optimist, quite an achievement for someone who served in both WWI and WWII? Or was his positive outlook due to his own personal journey, and his incredible faith in humanity.  See he knew that “humanity has the option to make it”.

In the figure above you see the 1999 estimated costs to end hunger and poverty and provide a reasonable standard of living to those in need at around $270b a year. The spend that same year on weapons and military world-wide was $720b.

According to the BBC News the cost of global conflicts is now $14trillion in 2014, and simply reducing this cost by just 10% would allow …

We could be investing in "LIVINGRY"

We could be investing in “LIVINGRY”

What is stopping us (our global community) from investing in “LIVINGRY” a world round service industry that enhances the lives of people?

A service industry that elevates us all to a standard of living beyond what anyone has yet experienced, truly a billionaire’s lifestyle?

According to Buckminster Fuller it is these three things:

  1. the technical means of accomplishment exists altogether in the invisible realms of technology, and unfortunately most people see technology as weapons and fighter planes used within the killingry industry.
  2. the experts are way too specialized in a particular area of invisible technology and cannot envisage what is possible from the synergy of combining their technology with everyone else’s.
  3. the way we can and will live in the future is unfamiliar and not obvious to the vast majority who still are not aware of the enormous wealth that each one of us now has, our billionaire inheritance that awaits us.

For the majority of people on Earth today there is however, no, or little “brightness of the future” from their experience.

Each person who knows the truth has a responsibility to share it with others … share this post, tell your friends and family. We do have the option to make it successfully on this planet in our lifetime.

About Alex Sprunt

Twenty years ago I participated in a game that changed my life. Called "The Barnyard Game" it threw groups of intelligent people into fierce competition for the chance to 'access the Ocean of Abundance' and the "Ocean only wants to OUTFLOW ... so come with a spoon, a cup, bucket or pipe it in, the Ocean doesn't care". The game was noisy, loud, had physical barriers and it was played hard. Then all of a sudden a realisation was made that swept through the game in an instant. "There is no need to compete ... the Ocean is abundant and wants everyone to enjoy her abundance." For forty years or more we have been living at a time when everyone on earth could be living the lifestyle of billionaires. Technology and a cooperation revolution makes this available and the way forward is to elevate everyone up above the level of the "1%" rather than try and pull the 1% down to a low level. We are all living in exciting times ...
