Ray Dalio, billionaire hedge fund manager and the 58th most wealthy person on Earth (according to Forbes Rich List 2019) says that America’s capitalist system is broken! He says that the wealth gap and equal opportunities are not being addressed.
He says we need to come together, and we need to engineer the coming together. He says it is necessary! Could he be right?
It should be ringing alarm bells that many of our most influential and powerful men and women all around the planet are so far behind in their thinking. Buckminster Fuller was saying this and a lot more around 70 years ago. It was obvious to ‘Bucky’ and others then that we already had the technology or the know how to provide a high standard of living for everyone on Earth, without pollution and environmental degradation. Without subjugation and corruption …
But just as Ray Dalio says … it will take a coming together, a “smart togetherness” and it may not happen. It’s necessary but it may not happen he says, and the BIG question is; If it is to happen who will make it happen?
Ray Dalio believes it must come from the top, a top down solution but let’s be sensible now … most people at the top have massive estates to protect and are in general still living in a “win as much as I can” world. Most cannot see that there is in fact plenty for everyone, and that holding on to a scarcity mentality can only bring about more scarcity, even though there is plenty it will be wasted and destroyed.
So WHO WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN?
There is only one possibility … and that is by individuals, you and me, taking responsibility and working together to create a future that works, and a future that is built on a foundation of abundance.
The old strategy of managing scarce resources must be replaced with smart togetherness as Mr Dalio says, and an engineered solution to distribute the ever increasing wealth and life support that we produce, thanks to the gift our planet is and the technology that humans have and are developing.
Focusing or reorienting these technologies towards LIVINGRY as Fuller said is what our abundant future is all about. Let’s get started today.
